If I compare the "most recent" feed to a list containing everyone, it's the same for the most recent few posts, then drops the odd one, then beyond the first screenful or so of results it more-or-less just shows me edited highlights, some quite old. But then I haven't done the going-through-manually thing, and I think most other people haven't either (just as they also aren't reading via a custom list containing everyone)
