I think it'd be fun to build a web page where one could put in text in a language where there's a consistent mapping between orthography and pronunciation, and get out some IPA. Has this been done already?
Indeed it has: go to http://giellatekno.uit.no/cgi/d-kal.eng.html and enter some Greenlandic (e.g. the place name "Ittoqqortoormiit") and click "Transcribe". (And you'll see, for example, that the "r"s in the orthography aren't pronounced; they merely mark the preceding vowel as uvularised. The former /r/ has completely assimilated to the following consonant.)
